Wallpaper of the Week - New York City

August 19th, 2008 by Wesley

Each week, I try to post a Hi-Res wallpaper (in both wide and full format) for you guys to use. All of the wallpapers are original images that I took and edited myself.

This weeks wallpaper is of New York City. I took this back in May when I was on my grad trip. Unfortunately, I shot in Medium JPEG, so the resolution only goes to 1900×1200.

It’s not often that I say this about my own work, but I absolutely love this picture. So much so, that I’m looking into getting it blown up and printed so that it can be hung in my room. If anyone knows of a place that will do this, please let me know!

Wesley, fabulous shot you’ve got here. The colors and angle give the photo a great feel!

You could rasturbate it, that could be cool. Try finding a regular print shop.

This one is pretty nice. I love the texture. How much did you fumble with the curves?

Thank tom. I’ll look into that! Cause I think this would really look good on a wall.

Henning: There wasn’t much playing around with the curves. I just took a texture, put it on top, then i played around the the colors, brightness, highlights, shadows, ect.

This is what the original looked like: http://www.wyendrys.com/Images/nyc_non_edit

I’ve made a few prints thru Mpix.com and they’ve been consistently awesome.

BTW, nice shot of the skyline. Gritty processing. :)
